Stunning house in a beautiful location

We had an amazing week in this beautiful house. The views are stunning, and change continually. The sunrises and sunsets are breathtaking. The house is large and comfortably accommodates six people, although we were a party of four with two dogs. The garden doesn’t have a gate, and there can be sheep two fields along, so we never let the dogs out unattended. Inside the house is tastefully decorated to a high standard. The kitchen is really lovely, and very well equipped. The beds comfy, bathrooms spacious and the showers are powerful. There’s so many beautiful places to visit on Skye, and to return to this perfectly appointed house at the end of a long day of sightseeing, light the fire and eat a meal at the long farmhouse style table with those views, just perfect. Tom is a great host, promptly answering any questions we may have had. Can’t recommend highly enough. We hope to return.

McDonalds (Saltwinds, waternish, skye )

We came to Skye this time for our wedding and my husband's family stayed at Saltwinds. They all said what a fantastic job I did on finding their accommodation and I agree. Saltwinds was immaculate in presentation, so clean, modern making for a really comfortable stay and with the most amazing views at any time of day. We had a fabulous time and the communication with the host/ manager was fantastic. We would definitely come again :) Thanks for a lovely holiday

Family Golding (Suffolk)

This house is spectacular. Sitting high above our favourite village in Skye, Stein it is the most perfect location with views that are utterly breathtaking whatever the weather. On top of that we had golden eagles circling overhead most days and the sea eagle out over the water. The standard and quality of everything in the house is superb from the showers to the soft furnishings to the whole decor and ambience. On top of this, directions to the house, instructions for operating each appliance etc were all excellent (even instructions are tastefully done!). The email contact was excellent with a wonderful selection of suggestions for things to do on Skye. I honestly cannot recommend the house enough. It is the best holiday house we have ever stayed in and our grown up children agreed too! It made our special holiday of celebrating our joint 60th something nine of us will ever forget. Thank you, you even seemed to book the weather for us, wall to wall sunshine and no midges!

We had a wonderful 3 night stay at Salt Winds. The house is fantastic with stunning views and had everything we needed (and more). The weather wasn’t great but it didn’t matter. Coming back to such a gorgeous house more than made up for the rain. Having a tumble drier was also very handy! We’d definitely recommend - and would be more than happy to live there permanently.

Spent the most amazing 4 days in this beautiful house; the views are truly breathtaking from every room and the layout, design and finishing touches of the house are first class. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Salt Winds or come back for another stay. We were extremely lucky with the weather and made the most of sitting out on the deck watching the sunset and just taking in the spectacular views. Explored the island a little; lovely little cafes and shops in Dunvegan and Portree and for those who like a good walk the Fairy Pools and Coral Beach are worth seeing. Didn’t manage dinner at the Stein Inn as it was fully booked so make sure to book in advance. Would recommend Edinbane Inn for fish and chips, quick service and the staff are lovely and the little grocery store in Dunvegan is handy for essentials. Salt Winds,,,,,,,,,paradise!

I am not sure where to start, we were completely blown away by Salt Winds, the pre arrival information was spot on, directions easy to follow and property easy to find. The property is just a beautiful fusion of fabrics and well considered furnishings and design, it instantly made you feel welcome, warm and at home, but equality didn't feel like a house that belong to anyone else. It was clean, uncluttered but perfectly cosy. There was everything you would possibly wish for, blankets for cold nights on the terrace, candles for dinner, welcome pack for arrival, maps of skye, easy to find and follow instructions for any appliances you may not have been familiar with. We looked forwards to coming back to the house at the end of each day to relax and just watch the sun go down. We fell in love with this place and the stay in Skye will hold a very special place in all of our hearts, we will be back without doubt, thank you very much to Tom for being such a fabulous host.

2nd visit

Once again Saltwinds has performed and delivered... From the luxurious living room and well equipped kitchen and bathrooms to THAT view. We've come away after 3 days of the most amazing weather and have fallen in love with this house and Skye even more.. None of the family wanted to leave.. Lots to see and do nearby. Had lunch at the Loch bay restaurant.. Simply delicious.. We'll be back, if you'll have us again Saltwinds.. Until next time xx

Perfect place to switch off

Spacious, comfortable home with everything you could need for an escape. Views are stunning and can be seen from every room. Lovely and warm so we only used the wood burning stove once. Friendly neighbours and a short walk to the Stein Inn, Lochbay or Yurt tea.
